About Me

I’m a former VP of Operations for a farm equipment manufacturing company in the Midwest. I have over 20 years of experience in industrial manufacturing, with 7 of those years as an Engineering Assistant.

I held many management positions supporting Production and Operations, including HR and Safety, Purchasing, acting as General Contractor for factory expansions, and Board member.

Prior to this, I gained experience in:

  • Retail and wholesale auto parts
  • Retail and wholesale ag and industrial tractor parts
  • Owning and operating a bar/steakhouse/gentleman’s club
  • Owning and operating a tree nursery and tree seed supplier service
  • Owning and operating a network marketing business
  • Owning and operating a large market garden

What this means for you: This is not a resume. I list these experiences so you can see that I understand many types of businesses, and from multiple perspectives. I’ve worked it. I’ve lived it.

I know the importance of paying attention to detail, clearly communicating with multiple departments, and getting everything done on time.

My brain is wired for strategic thinking, seeing the big picture, recognizing patterns and streamlining procedures to add more value to them. I see how each piece fits into the broader plan and create marketing content that aligns with your overall business strategy.

Whether your company is an OEM or a supplier to one, I understand your business. I also understand commercial construction with the factory expansions I oversaw. I can get started on your projects quicker because the learning curve is smaller.

I retired early to escape the harsh winters and moved to the Southwest with my cat, Tigger. I indulged in hobbies that became certifications in aromatherapy and holistic/energetic healing. I used these to help myself recover from cancer treatment.

Today, I have chosen to serve companies as a B2B copywriter and content strategist. This allows me to stay active, work from home, and use my experience to help industries I am familiar with to garner more leads and support them through their buying journey. I trained with AWAI (American Writers and Artists Institute), one of the largest copywriting training organizations in the world.

My primary focus is website copy and content because it’s home to much of your marketing content. Increasing visitor interaction on your website is part of my LeadGen strategy for you.

My secondary focus is supporting the buyer’s journey.  This can include an email campaign series or additional product information reports.

I work mainly in digital marketing. Because B2B purchases can have very long lead times, it’s crucial to stay in touch with prospects at all stages.

I can help you with that through strategic marketing campaigns.

A high ticket B2B purchase can affect not only multiple departments but multiple individuals. When we develop a marketing strategy together, I will expect those people to be part of the conversation.

For example, if you have Graphic or Web Designers on staff, I don’t want to step on toes when I suggest changes to your website. They need to be involved. It needs to be a team environment we work in.

However, I require a single contact person to communicate with throughout your project.  Your in-house team will need to come to a consensus on what you want before I begin working, as well as approval checkpoints throughout the project.

Tigger isn’t much of a team player, but he doesn’t care if I am, as long as I feed him on demand and only pet him three times.

Attention to detail, getting your deliverables on time, and thorough communication are key to finding the right copywriter.
