FAQs

The Fine Print of Working with Me:

GETTING STARTED

  1. We’ll have a discovery call to discuss your goals and obstacles in reaching them. This takes 20 to 30 minutes. If we need to talk longer, that’s fine. It’s free no matter how long it takes.
  2. If it’s something I can help you with, I’ll ask about your budget. Are you looking to spend $500? $5,000? $50,000?
  3. My fees are by project, not word count or hours.
  4. I’ll take a couple of days to create a custom proposal for you, keeping your budget in mind.
  5. I will email the proposal to you, and we’ll discuss it in detail on the phone.
  6. When you accept the proposal, I’ll send you a creative brief to fill out and return to me.
  7. I do some keyword research, but any you use now should be included in the creative brief so we can be sure your copy and content are optimized for search engines (SEO).

LET’S TALK MONEY

  1. I require a 50% down payment before I start work, and the remainder is payable upon delivery of your project.

I cannot honor 10-day or 30-day terms because I have a microbusiness.

I know it is possible to work around as I have worked in Accounts Payable in a multi-million dollar company.

Consider me a local vendor, whether a groundskeeper/landscaper or a local bakery, you get the idea.

If you require giving me a Purchase Order for my services, that is fine. My payment terms remain the same.

  1. My proposals include 2 rounds of revisions within the scope of the original proposal/project. Anything beyond that is a new project and requires a new proposal and contract.
  2. Your acceptance of the proposal with your electronic signature is a valid, legal contract.

TEAMWORK

  1. I require 1 point person with whom to speak throughout the duration of the project.
  2. If possible, a backup person who is kept up to date would be beneficial as well, in the event the point person is unavailable, or leaves the company, when I need feedback or more information.
  3. These individuals should have the authority to approve the work and payment of invoices.
  4. If your company authorizes this project by committee, all members need to agree on one central focus for the project. Your point person may need to conduct internal meetings to reach a consensus before I start work.
  5. At milestones throughout the project, I may ask for feedback/approval from your point person. Again, that person may need to conduct internal meetings to reach a consensus on the feedback and any revisions.
  6. A “hive mind” is critical to my success in providing you with a project you’ll be delighted to use.
  7. The timeliness of returning feedback to me is also critical to my success in providing your deliverables on time.

MY AI POLICY

“I am a human” or “I am not a robot”. You know those Captcha hurdles you need to jump over just to get a simple thing online? Copywriting is an art as much as a skill. Skills fade when they aren’t used. AI lacks any human emotion and resembles robotic writing. Astrologically speaking, I have a lot of water in my natal chart, so I feel all the feels. I do not use AI to write anything.
